Situation

Streetfire.net is the first and largest user generated content (UGC) video sharing service that specifically caters to car and motorcycle enthusiasts. With a growing and diverse audience, the Streetfire.net Motorsport Library consists of more than one hundred thousand UGC motorsport videos growing at a rate of hundreds a day.

Search engine data shows that viewer video interests range from compact cars, trucks, and muscle cars to the wildly popular crash videos.  While this information is useful, it doesn't even scratch the surface in terms of the depth and breadth of Internet audience behavior data that Streetfire.net hopes to understand about its visitors.  With its growing library of video content, Streefire.net also wants to uncover "hidden gems," those videos that have the greatest potential to attract viewers and increase engagement.

Measuring audience behavior

To understand audience behavior and find those "hidden gems," Streetfire.net instrumented our VisibleSuite solution for Internet video publishers. Since then, VisibleSuite has collected, catalogued, and analyzed hundreds of thousands of viewing hours of videos. Through measuring audience behavior, VisibleSuite acts as the engine to help Streetfire.net identify video performance in their content catalog  Going beyond page view analysis, VisibleSuite reports on audience engagement with videos, including whether or not viewers played the entire video and "hot spots" or high points in the video based on audience reactions (e.g., rewinding or re-watching the video).

Through working with Visible Measures, Streetfire.net also aims to increase brand loyalty by creating a more meaningful dialogue with video content producers.  Tapping into the power of VisibleSuite, video producers will learn how audiences react to, and interact with their content (e.g., sharing rates, engagement, distribution, etc.). By providing a rich set of tools, instant video feedback and metrics, video producers will be able to create content that meets their individual publishing goals and objectives.
